Sichongxi Hot Spring Park attracts many visitors with its unique charm. This hot spring resort, rich in history, not only has high-quality hot spring water but also combines natural beauty with carefully designed landscapes, making it a popular choice for winter travel.

Its history dates back to the Qing Dynasty when residents discovered that the hot spring water gushing from this place had healing effects. During the Japanese colonial period, in 1895, Japanese military police officer Takahashi "discovered" it in the creek, and in 1896, houses and bathtubs were built for development. Due to its excellent water quality and scenery, it was developed as a hot spring sanatorium and was loved by many Japanese royalty. It is one of Taiwan's four famous hot springs, along with Beitou. After the Kaohsiung Prefecture built a public bath in 1926, the number of tourists gradually increased. In 1950, it was renamed Hot Spring Village, and from 2015, the Pingtung County Government renovated the park, injecting shrine elements to revive tourism.

The Sichongxi hot spring has a weak alkaline sodium bicarbonate spring (pH about 7.8-8), and the spring temperature is 50-80°C (highest in March and April). It is clear and odorless. The spring water is rich in minerals, promotes blood circulation, and relieves muscle stiffness. It is said to have soothing effects on skin diseases, arthritis, neuralgia, etc., and the skin is smooth after bathing, hence the name "beauty soup."

Different themed Sichongxi Hot Spring Season events are held every winter. The theme of this year is "Spring in the North," which mainly uses cherry blossom pink and white lights to create a dreamy and romantic atmosphere, as well as a cosplay competition and a fun road race, creating a romantic Japanese atmosphere. There are also facilities such as trails, pavilions, and gardens in the park. In addition to hot spring bathing, you can also stroll and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Especially at night, the hot spring park illuminated by lights is even more charming, attracting many couples for dates.

In conclusion, Sichongxi Hot Spring Park is a tourist destination that combines historical culture, natural beauty, and high-quality hot springs. Whether you want to relax, experience local culture, or enjoy a romantic vacation, Sichongxi Hot Spring can meet your needs. Come to Sichongxi and experience a heartwarming and healing journey in winter!
