Vanilla Flower Source Hot Spring: A Relaxing Onsen Experience with Nature and Gourmet

Jinshan Dist., New Taipei City
Sightseeing
Jinshan Hot Spring, located in Jinshan District, New Taipei City, boasts abundant hot spring resources with a history dating back to the Qing Dynasty. After the Jinshan earthquake in 1867, hot spring phenomena began to appear in the area, and residents built small bathhouses for their use. During the Japanese colonial period, the Governor-General's Office constructed a hot spring resort in 1939 with public bathhouses, developing Jinshan Hot Spring into a renowned hot spring area. Due to its unique geology, it belongs to the Tatun Volcano Group's igneous rock hot springs, with active geothermal activity forming various spring qualities, mainly including sulfur springs, carbonated springs, and iron springs, each with its own characteristics. Among them, sulfur springs have a faint sulfur scent, which helps to soothe skin discomfort; carbonated springs are known as "beauty baths," leaving the skin smooth after bathing; and iron springs are rich in iron, which is beneficial to the body. These diverse spring qualities make Jinshan Hot Spring a famous hot spring destination in northern Taiwan.

Since the source of Jinshan Hot Spring mainly comes from the Tatun Volcano Group, it is rich in geothermal resources. The spring water is heated underground and minerals are dissolved, forming a unique hot spring water quality. It not only has a long history but is also loved by tourists for its diverse spring qualities.
