Sanmin Bat Cave, Taoyuan: Natural Cave Adventure, Summer Retreat, Waterfall Views

Fuxing Dist., Taoyuan City

Sightseeing

Sanmin Bat Cave is located in the valley of Wuliao Creek in Taoyuan's Fuxing District. The cave is about 80 meters long, 50 meters wide, and 30 meters high. The cave is naturally formed and is a rare natural cave.

The entrance has a parking lot, but the space is small and full of cars, so be extra careful when entering and exiting.

There are a few stalls next to the entrance of the trail where you can grab a snack.

The roadside is decorated with colorful flowers, and there are also some cherry trees standing on both sides, making the trail more lively.

It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to walk to the Bat Cave. Continue along the trail until you see the blue spiral staircase, then continue along the small path next to the pavilion.

It's like a super forest! It feels like an adventure. For children who grew up in the city, it's simply a fairyland!

The trail is not wide after entering. One side is close to the mountain wall, and the other side is a gurgling stream. The air is fresh and the environment is very original and has not been damaged.

After walking and taking pictures for a short time, we finally arrived at the innermost Bat Cave.

The Bat Cave was discovered in 1931. At that time, many bats lived in the cave, hence the name Bat Cave. There is a waterfall flowing in front of the cave, forming a pool of clear water and a winding stream to the valley. The cave is crescent-shaped, with jagged rocks, and the ground slopes from the inside to the outside, much like an opera stage.

The shape of the cave is crescent-shaped like an opera theater, which is very unique and wide. The area is spacious and can accommodate thousands of people. It can be said to be a very rare natural giant cave, giving people a sense of having a different world.

Because too many people come here, the lives of the bats have been disturbed, so the bats have moved to other places and are no longer as prosperous as they used to be. Now there is not even a hint of bat smell.
Although the bats have moved to other places, the deep and unpredictable rock cave landscape continues to attract many tourists.

Also, because it is close to the valley, the environment is quiet, the mountains are clear, the water is clear, and it is cool and pleasant. It has become a place for holiday outings, camping, picnics, barbecues, and water play. Of course, it is not recommended to enter on rainy days, because there is a risk of flash floods. On the other hand, the ground is slippery, and many places are covered with moss. Even if you come here on a sunny day, you still have to be especially careful!
