Shantsengchi Park: Taiwan's Furano Flower Fields

Beitou Dist., Taipei City
Sightseeing
Beitou Shantsengchi Park is a newly developed hillside park in 2019 located on the edge of Beitou city.

It was first displayed with colored ribbon patterns in 2020 and was praised as "Taiwan's Furano." The Parks and Street Lights Office of the Taipei City Government used the special hillside terrain of Shantsengchi Park to imitate the flower fields of Furano, Japan, planting flowering plants in a crisscross pattern to create a multi-layered visual effect, which caused a sensation last year.

The 2021 flower sea event officially started on January 26.
In addition to the bright colored ribbon patterns this year, a tulip area has also been added to create a different visual landscape. The flower sea exhibition will run until March 31, 2021. It is a super limited-edition attraction, so don't miss it.

This year's exhibition area layout and flower sea design, such as the choice of flowering plant types, the presentation of multi-layered visual effects, and the design techniques of contrasting color bands, allow people to have the little happiness of being in a beautiful flower sea just like in Japan, even when they cannot go abroad.

Around 4 or 5 pm, in addition to the beautiful flower sea, you can also enjoy the sunset if the weather is good, adding color and depth to your photos. However, because the temperature difference between morning and evening is large in February and March, and the wind on the hillside is strong, remember to take warm measures!

In the past, this area was a source of raw materials for Taiwan's ceramic industry and has a rich history and cultural elements. In addition, it is located next to the Guizikeng Soil and Water Conservation Area, so it combines natural ecology, local culture, history, and landscape art elements, making it different from ordinary parks.

This year, nearly 35,000 pots of flowering plants have been planted, and the larger 5-inch pots have been used instead of the 3-inch pots of last year, making the visual effect more full. The types of flowering plants are also more abundant than last year, adding a variety of colors and enhancing the flower sea landscape with contrasting color bands.
