YAYOI Restaurant: Authentic Japanese Set Meals with Premium Kinmemai Rice

Beitou Dist., Taipei City
Gourmet
In 1886 (Meiji 19), YAYOI restaurant, combining Japanese and Western culinary cultures, officially opened in Tokyo, Japan. Initially named "Meshiya Don," the name was changed to YAYOI in July 2006. In 1989, the first Meshiya Don store, "Minami Bypass Store," opened in Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, and subsequently expanded to regions such as Kanto, Kansai, and Kyushu. The first Taiwanese branch opened on July 25, 2014, near Songjiang Nanjing Station on the Taipei Metro.

This time, I visited the YAYOI Shipai Zhenxing Store. I was attracted by its unique architectural design and the lighting at night. Upon entering, the air conditioning was quite strong, feeling a bit too cold, perhaps because it was evening! Haha~

YAYOI Restaurant Menu Tour
Let's take a quick look at the menu!

The price isn't particularly cheap, but you can enjoy a Japanese ambiance.

The interior is very clean, and the seating area is comfortable, not feeling cramped due to small tables.

Ordering is done via iPad, which offers multiple language options, including Chinese, English, and Japanese. Moreover, the ordering system clearly indicates whether the meal has started cooking, allowing for worry-free waiting. The dining time is limited to 90 minutes. This visit was past the peak dining hours, so there were many empty seats, so no need to be too nervous. XD

Must-Try Kinmemai Rice
When you come to YAYOI, be sure to enjoy this bowl of rice, as they use Kinmemai rice. Kinmemai rice is much higher in dietary fiber, vitamin B1, and lipopolysaccharides (a natural immunity enhancer) than regular white rice.

Japanese Fried Pork Cutlet Set Meal (Tonkatsu)
Take a look at this Japanese fried pork cutlet set meal; you'll understand why I said the price isn't cheap from the start.

I think the taste is very flavorful and sufficient, and the sauce inside has a sukiyaki flavor.

Chicken Nanban Set Meal

The fried chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and the special sauce, which is a bit like salad dressing, makes the taste extraordinary. The texture, presentation, and the premium Kinmemai rice make this price worthwhile.
