Gourmet
In Tainan's Anping district, a foodie paradise, lies 'Yanping Guazi Ma,' a traditional snack shop with over six decades of history. Originally a market stall, the founder inherited the "pan-fried gui" craftsmanship from the Guanmiao area of Tainan, emphasizing the continuation of the family's skills. Now run by the third generation, it's a childhood memory shared by many Tainan residents. In a highly competitive market, Yanping Guazi Ma has stood the test of time. Many locals and tourists are drawn to its old-fashioned flavor and friendly atmosphere, making it a representative of Tainan's local snacks and a delicious memory for many locals since childhood. Guazi Ma is not just a snack shop, but also carries the history and human touch of Anping.

The story of Yanping Guazi Ma dates back to the 1950s, when the first generation founder started selling Rou Gui on the street. At that time, the coastal area of Tainan initially was formed by rural or fishing families seeking a sense of fullness. They ate "Gui" made of rice pulp with meat sauce or seafood. Rou Gui became a snack for fishermen to replenish their strength. Guazi Ma's Rou Gui quickly became popular due to its solid ingredients and unique taste, becoming a well-known local snack. Over time, Guazi Ma has grown from a roadside stall into a small shop, but it has always adhered to traditional methods and flavors, attracting countless foodies.

Rou Gui is a specialty snack in the Tainan area, and Yanping Guazi Ma's Rou Gui is particularly unique. Its main ingredient is rice pulp, which is ground and then added with special ingredients and steamed in a steamer. The uniqueness of Guazi Ma's Rou Gui lies in its ingredients. In addition to the traditional meat sauce, dried shrimps, mushrooms, etc. are added to make the taste richer. The steamed Rou Gui has a chewy texture, drizzled with a special sauce, and served with the shop's homemade garlic paste and coriander, the taste is unforgettable.
